Recovered Methanol including non-returnable UN approved drum. Methanol is the simplest alcohol, and is a light, volatile, colorless, flammable, liquid with a distinctive odour that is very similar to but slightly sweeter than drinking alcohol (ethanol). At room temperature it is a polar liquid and is used as an antifreeze, solvent and fuel. It is also used for producing biodiesel via transesterification reaction. Recovered methanol may conatin low levels of side products (SP) including, but not limited to, Toluene, Benzene, Dimethyl Carbamide (DMC), Condensate, Ethanol, Propanol and Butanol carried over during distillation. Product colour can vary as a function of prior application. (ie: polymer synthesis etc). The total combined SP content rarely exceeds 1% by volume (ie:99.30% Methanol).
